How to hard-code a field

When you hard-code a field, you set the source field to a defined value for the destination field. Use this option if you prefer to have the same value written to this imported data field for every record, regardless of the exported value.

In order to hard-code a field, use one of the following options:

  • Use custom default value:

Insert custom string value on the left side of the Field List (mapping) and the correct syntax is ##’string value’ if you are hardcoding a string value and ##numeric value if you are hardcoding a numeric value.

Once you have hard-coded the needed fields, you need to click on Activate Changes ( at the top of the transfer page) and then you can run the transfer and check the results.
