Authorizing Rapidi to access your Salesforce.com data
The Connection Salesforce.com is used to connect and transfer data to/from Salesforce.com CRM and Force.com-based applications. To allow Rapidi to access your Salesforce.com data, you need to authorize the Rapidi Connected App in your Salesforce.com instance.
This is done in the following way:
- You log in to MyRapidi and go to the Connections tab and then unfold the Salesforce.com connection that you want to authorize.
- Then press the Authorize button; you will be prompted to log in to your Salesforce.com instance (if you are not already logged in in another tab in the same browser). You should log in with the SFDC user that you want Rapidi to use for accessing your Salesforce.com instance.
- You are then prompted with a screen to authorize Rapidi to access your Salesforce.com instance data; please Authorize Rapidi to access your data.
Possible Actions at the connection level:
Test
- You can Test that the access to a Connection works using the Test button on the Connection.
- Login to MyRapidi. Click the Connections menu item and then go to the Connection in question. Then use the Test button to test that Rapidi can access your system.
Read Design
- Read Design is the way to read the layout - the information about tables and fields - from a Connection. Reading the design is necessary in order to be able to lookup table- and field names when editing the transfer setup.
- Read Design is done from every single Connection in question.
- Log in to MyRapidi. Go to the Connections menu item and select the Connection you want to Read Design for. Then click the Read Design button.
- You will need to do the Read Design each time you have changed the layout of the tables/objects that you are working with (if you want to transfer data to/from these fields).
Note: If you don't see the 'Read Design' button to the right of the 'Test' button, it's because you don't have access to Edit Transfers. You can contact Rapidi support to get access to Edit Transfers (note that this access is only available on some subscription levels of Rapidi).
Copy
- You can copy an existing connection by expanding the connection in question and then click the Copy button. It will create a copy of that connection.
